Also known as: Counter Measure Sniper, Truvelo .338 CMS
Overview
The Truvelo CMS (Counter Measure Sniper) is a bolt-action sniper rifle designed and manufactured by Truvelo Armoury in South Africa. Primarily chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, the CMS was specifically developed for urban warfare scenarios where a compact, maneuverable precision rifle is essential. The rifle features a folding stock that reduces its overall length from 1200mm to 960mm, making it significantly easier to transport and deploy in confined spaces. Weighing just 6.2 kg without optics, the CMS is notably lightweight for a .338 Lapua platform. The muzzle brake provides an estimated 45% recoil reduction, allowing the shooter to maintain sight picture for follow-up shots. Truvelo's proven barrel and action design, combined with the .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge, delivers accurate shooting capability out to 1800 meters. The rifle achieves half-MOA accuracy at 500 meters with appropriate ammunition.

Notes
The CMS represents Truvelo's answer to the growing demand for compact .338 Lapua platforms suitable for urban counter-sniper operations. Unlike traditional long-range sniper rifles optimized for open terrain, the CMS prioritizes portability and maneuverability without sacrificing the extended reach provided by the .338 Lapua cartridge. The modular design allows caliber conversion between .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .338 Lapua Magnum. All Truvelo sniper rifles are hand-built and individually accuracy-tested before delivery.
Background
South Africa has a long tradition of precision rifle development, driven in part by the vast open landscapes of southern Africa where long-range shooting is a necessity. The Truvelo CMS channels this heritage into a modern urban sniper platform, proving that a .338 Lapua rifle need not be a bulky, unwieldy instrument to deliver devastating long-range precision.
