Overview

The Truvelo Falcon is a South African bolt-action anti-materiel rifle chambered in .50 BMG (12.7x99mm), developed and manufactured by Truvelo Armoury. The rifle uses a distinctive metallic backbone construction on which all components are mounted, eschewing a conventional stock entirely and relying on a bipod for stable firing positions. The massive steel receiver houses a rotating bolt with two frontal locking lugs and one rear locking lug. The heavy free-floated 950mm barrel is fitted with a large muzzle brake to manage the substantial recoil. The Falcon can be configured as single-shot or equipped with a 5-round detachable box magazine. Claimed accuracy with appropriate ammunition is 1 MOA, with an effective range of approximately 1,500 meters. The rifle is intended primarily for counter-sniper operations and anti-materiel work against unarmored vehicles and installations.

Notes

The Truvelo Falcon is part of Truvelo Armoury's line of large-caliber precision rifles which also includes the CMS (Counter Measure Sniper) and the SR 20x110 in 20mm caliber. The backbone design eliminates the need for a traditional stock, reducing weight while maintaining structural rigidity. All Truvelo sniper rifles are hand-built to order.

Background

The Truvelo Falcon's distinctive backbone design without a conventional stock makes it one of the most visually unusual anti-materiel rifles in production. Built by a small South African company that started as a speed camera manufacturer, Truvelo Armoury has developed a reputation for producing some of the most accurate large-caliber rifles in Africa.
