Overview
The Uberti 1862 Pocket Navy is a modern reproduction of the Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy, a compact .36 caliber single-action percussion revolver with a five-shot rebated cylinder, octagonal barrel, and brass backstrap and trigger guard. Chambered as a cap-and-ball muzzleloader, it was designed as a concealable pocket sidearm.

Reproduction of the original Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy, of which roughly 19,000 were produced by Colt between 1861 and 1873.

.36 caliber cap & ball. Available with 5.5" (140mm) or 6.5" (165mm) octagonal barrel. Five-shot rebated cylinder roll-engraved with a naval scene. Color case-hardened frame, blued barrel, brass backstrap and trigger guard, one-piece walnut grip.
Background
The original Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy paired the compact 1849 Pocket frame with the .36 Navy caliber, giving civilians and officers a concealable but harder-hitting percussion revolver during and after the American Civil War.
