Uberti Cattleman CMS

Also known as: Uberti Short Stroke CMS, Uberti 1873 Cattleman CMS, Uberti Cattleman Short Stroke SASS Pro

Overview

The Uberti Cattleman CMS is a single-action revolver derived from the 1873 Cattleman (Colt Single Action Army replica) and tuned for Cowboy Mounted Shooting and SASS cowboy-action competition. Its defining feature is a short-stroke hammer with roughly 20 percent less travel than a standard SAA, paired with a wide, low-profile hammer spur and a custom-grade mainspring for fast, positive cocking. Chambered in .357 Magnum (and .45 Colt), it retains the classic case-colored frame and one-piece walnut grip of the 1873 line while delivering a faster, competition-oriented lock time.

Background

Cowboy Mounted Shooting rewards raw speed on horseback, and the CMS line was Uberti's answer: keep the timeless 1873 Cattleman silhouette but shave every millisecond off the hammer stroke so a mounted competitor can thumb-cock and fire a five- or ten-target course faster than a stock Peacemaker ever could.
