Also known as: Uberti 1873 Short Stroke SASS Pro, Cattleman II SASS Pro, Short Stroke SASS Pro
Overview
The Uberti Cattleman SASS Pro is a single-action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum, built by A. Uberti of Italy as a competition-tuned reproduction of the classic 1873 Single Action Army. Purpose-built for Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) cowboy action matches, it features a short-stroke hammer that reduces travel by roughly 20 percent over a standard SAA lockwork, giving faster, positive cocking and an uninterrupted sight picture between shots. A custom-grade mainspring encased in the checkered one-piece walnut grip delivers a smooth, crisp trigger pull tuned for rapid fire on steel. The six-shot fluted cylinder, blued steel frame, fixed sights and traditional loading gate preserve the handling and profile of the original frontier revolver while the internal refinements optimize it for speed shooting. Offered with 4.75-inch and 5.5-inch barrels in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt, the SASS Pro is aimed at serious competitors seeking a match-ready single action out of the box.
