Also known as: Origin, UX Origin

Overview

The Umarex Origin is a pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle introduced in 2020 and aimed at first-time PCP shooters. Chambered for .22 caliber pellets and slugs fed from a 10-shot auto-indexing rotary magazine, it drives projectiles up to roughly 1,075 fps from a 1:19-twist rifled barrel. Its signature feature is the Ever-Pressure Tank (EPT) system, a pre-pressurized chamber that reduces the number of hand-pump strokes needed to fill the reservoir by up to 50 percent, letting a shooter reach a usable pressure after only about 13 pumps. A smooth side-lever action, adjustable two-stage trigger, and integrated fill-pressure gauge round out the package.

Background

Marketed by Umarex as one of the easiest hand-pump-friendly PCP rifles for beginners, the Origin's Ever-Pressure Tank system was designed to overcome the biggest barrier to PCP ownership: the effort of filling a reservoir without a compressor or dive tank.
