Overview
The Verney-Carron Sagittaire is a French over/under (superposed) break-action express double rifle built for big-game hunting. Chambered most commonly in 9.3x74R, it pairs two vertically stacked rifled barrels on a hammerless boxlock-style action with automatic ejectors and a single non-selective trigger. The barrels lock with two conical lateral lugs at the base of the upper barrel, and the rifle carries express iron sights with a fiber-optic front bead over a battle-sight leaf, plus integral pivot bases for a scope. Hand-finished in the Saint-Etienne workshops, it is a classic driven-hunt and stalking rifle for wild boar, red deer and other large game.
