Overview
The Victor Bernedo Pocket Pistol is a small blowback-operated, striker-fired semi-automatic pistol chambered in .25 ACP (6.35mm Browning), produced in the Spanish gunmaking town of Eibar in the early 1920s. Built on the ubiquitous Browning Model 1906 vest-pocket pattern that dominated Spanish small-arms production of the era, it was a concealable defensive handgun fed from a detachable box magazine and protected by patent number 69952 granted in 1919. Marked "PISTOLET AUTOMATIQUE BERNEDO," it was one of the self-branded designs Victor Bernedo sold after years of building Ruby pistols under contract during the First World War.

Background
Victor Bernedo, born in Elgoibar, registered as a gunsmith in 1912 and within a year ran a workshop of eight men. He prospered building Ruby-type pistols for Gabilondos y Urresti to satisfy massive French military orders during the First World War, then launched his own brand of Eibar-pattern pocket pistols before selling his factory to Bonifacio Echeverria (later Star Bonifacio Echeverria) in 1921.
