Overview
The Vostok MTs 13 is a Soviet bolt-action, single-shot 300-metre free rifle chambered in 7.62x54mmR, built by the TsKIB SOO design bureau in Tula for international match shooting. A heavyweight target rifle (about 8 kg) with a heavy barrel, aperture diopter sights, adjustable hook buttplate, palm rest and set trigger, it was exported to the West under the 'Vostok' brand. Olympic gold medallist and record holder V. Borisov of the USSR used the MTs 13 in 300-metre competition.

TsKIB SOO built the MTs match rifles purely to win international competition rather than for commercial sale, so Tula spared no expense on their construction; Soviet shooter Vasily Borisov carried the MTs 13 to Olympic and world-record honours in 300-metre free rifle.
