Overview

The Vostok MU 2-3 is a Soviet single-shot .22 Long Rifle free (Olympic 50 metre) target pistol exported to the West under the state 'Vostok' trade name. It is a precision match handgun with a long 11.5-inch (292 mm) blued target barrel, a single-shot breech that is manually cocked via the trigger guard, an extremely light adjustable set trigger, an adjustable rear sight, and an anatomical wraparound wooden orthopedic grip. It was built for the ISSF 50 metre free-pistol discipline.

Background

Sold in the West under the 'Vostok' export brand, the MU free pistol represented Soviet target-shooting pedigree from the era of marksman Makhmud Umarov, who took free-pistol silver at the 1960 Rome Olympics.
