Overview
The Walther Maximathor is a German pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) hunting air rifle introduced by Umarex under the Walther brand at IWA 2016. Chambered for the .22 (5.5mm) pellet, it delivers up to 60 joules of muzzle energy from a 200-bar air reservoir feeding an 8-shot rotary magazine. It uses a Lothar Walther rifled steel barrel with a 1/2-inch UNF threaded muzzle, a two-stage adjustable match trigger, and an ambidextrous Minelli hardwood stock, positioning it as a high-power varmint and small-game hunting rifle.

Closely related to the higher-pressure Walther Torminathor (300-bar reservoir). Also offered in .25 (6.35mm) caliber producing over 70 joules. In the United States the .22 version is marketed at velocities up to 1,260 fps with around 44 ft-lbf of energy.
Background
Marketed as Walther's high-power hunting airgun line, the Maximathor (200 bar) and its sibling Torminathor (300 bar) take their names from a play on the Norse thunder-god Thor, emphasising the powerful single-shot punch of these PCP rifles.
