The PDP was adopted by German Special Forces in 2024 after 12 months of testing, replacing Glock G17s and H&K P30s. The contract includes up to 6,500 pistols in two variants: P14 (standard) and P14K (compact). Available in multiple barrel lengths from 3.5 to 5.1 inches with capacities ranging from 10 to 20 rounds.
Background
The PDP beat out established competitors including Glock and Heckler & Koch to win the German Special Forces sidearm contract in 2024, a significant upset in a country where HK had long dominated military pistol procurement. Its 'Performance Duty Trigger' with approximately 4-pound pull weight has been called one of the best factory striker-fired triggers available.
