Overview
The Weatherby Mark V Weathermark is a bolt-action hunting rifle built around Weatherby's nine-lug Mark V action and finished for hard use in foul weather. It was the first Mark V model to feature a Cerakote-finished barreled action, applied in Tac Gray to resist corrosion in the harshest hunting conditions. The rifle pairs that weatherproof metalwork with a hand-laid, raised-comb Monte Carlo fiberglass stock featuring a matte gel-coat finish, spiderweb accents, and an aluminum bedding block for a rigid, consistent action fit. The Mark V action uses nine locking lugs and a fast 54-degree bolt throw, a Weatherby hallmark since the 1940s that allows the receiver and bolt to handle the high pressures of Weatherby's belted magnum cartridges. In .257 Weatherby Magnum, the 26-inch barrel drives a 100-grain bullet past 3,400 feet per second, delivering the flat trajectory and downrange energy that made the cartridge a long-range hunting favorite. Like all Mark V rifles, the Weathermark carries Weatherby's guaranteed sub-MOA accuracy commitment with factory ammunition.

The Weathermark has been discontinued and succeeded by the lighter Weathermark LT and limited Weathermark Bronze runs. The Mark V action is offered in two frame sizes: a six-lug version for standard cartridges and a nine-lug version for the magnum calibers such as the .257 Weatherby Magnum. Weight ranges from roughly 6.1 to 8 pounds depending on caliber and barrel contour; overall length runs 42.5 to 48.5 inches. Length of pull is 13.625 inches.
Background
Roy Weatherby founded his company in 1945 on the conviction that high-velocity cartridges were the future of hunting, and the .257 Weatherby Magnum he developed in 1944 remained his personal favorite cartridge throughout his life. The Mark V action engineered to contain those pressures has stayed in continuous production for more than seven decades, and the Weathermark adapted that legacy for hunters who demand a corrosion-resistant rifle ready for the nastiest conditions in the field.
