Overview
The Weihrauch HW77 is an underlever-cocked, spring-piston air rifle developed and manufactured by the German sporting weapons maker Hermann Weihrauch. Introduced in 1984, it is a fixed-barrel design that is cocked by a concealed underlever, with a sliding loading port (tap) at the breech. Renowned for its rugged steel construction, considerable weight, and the precision-adjustable Rekord two-stage trigger, the HW77 is widely regarded as one of the finest spring-piston target and field rifles ever made. It is chambered primarily in .177 (4.5mm) and also offered in .22 (5.5mm).

The shorter, lighter HW77K carbine variant has a barrel and overall length roughly 100mm shorter and weighs about 100g less. Muzzle energy varies by market between roughly 16 J (12 ft-lbf, UK legal limit) and 20+ J in unrestricted markets.

The Hermann Weihrauch company was founded in 1899 by Hermann Weihrauch Sr. and is based in Mellrichstadt, Germany. The HW designation derives from the founder's initials. The HW77's underlever, fixed-barrel layout was a deliberate move toward target-grade consistency, and its Rekord trigger became a benchmark copied across the airgun industry.
