Western Auto Revelation
Western Auto Supply Company · Shotgun · Discontinued · 1965
Also known as: Revelation R310, Revelation R310AB, Revelation Model 310A, Western Auto Revelation 12ga
Overview
The Western Auto Revelation is a pump-action shotgun sold under the Revelation house brand by the Western Auto Supply Company through its retail and catalog stores. Chambered in 12 gauge, the Revelation R310 series was a rebranded Mossberg 500, manufactured by O.F. Mossberg & Sons and carrying the Revelation name rather than the Mossberg marking. It used the same dual action bars, top-tang safety, aluminum alloy receiver, and interchangeable barrels as the Mossberg 500, making parts fully interchangeable. It was a popular budget-friendly hunting and sporting shotgun in the United States from the 1960s through the 1980s.

Background
Revelation was the in-house store brand used by Western Auto Supply Company for the firearms it sold through its stores and mail-order catalogs. To keep costs down, Western Auto contracted established makers like Mossberg, Marlin, and Savage to produce guns wearing the Revelation name, so a Revelation shotgun often hides a well-known design beneath an unfamiliar label.
