Winchester Model 670
Winchester Repeating Arms Company · Rifle · Discontinued · 1966
Also known as: Model 670, Winchester 670
Overview
The Winchester Model 670 is an American bolt-action sporting rifle introduced in 1966 as an economy version of the Winchester Model 70. It used the same push-feed action as the post-1964 Model 70 but reduced costs through a plainer hardwood stock without checkering, an uncapped fore-end and simplified finishing. Offered as a Sporting Rifle, a short-barreled Carbine and a Magnum Rifle, it was chambered in popular hunting cartridges including the .30-06 Springfield. The internal box magazine held four rounds in standard calibers and three in magnum chamberings.

Background
Introduced alongside the Model 770, the Model 670 was Winchester's budget hunting rifle of the late 1960s and 1970s, giving cost-conscious deer hunters the proven post-1964 Model 70 action at a lower price point.
