The .38-55 Win variant weighs 6 lbs 12 oz (3062g). The original pre-1964 Model 94s are highly collectible. Production was temporarily halted in 2006 when the New Haven factory closed, and resumed in 2010 by Miroku in Japan under the Winchester brand. The Model 94 was also offered historically in calibers including .25-35 Win, .32 Win Special, .44 Magnum, and .45 Colt. The .30-30 Winchester cartridge is the first rifle cartridge caliber developed for smokeless powder in the USA. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
Background
The Model 94 was the first commercial sporting rifle designed specifically for smokeless powder cartridges, and its partnership with the .30-30 Winchester cartridge created what many consider the most successful deer hunting combination in American history. The rifle has been in continuous production for over 130 years, and it has been estimated that more whitetail deer have been harvested with the Model 94 in .30-30 than with any other rifle in existence.
