Overview
The Windham Weaponry R18 .308 is an AR-10-pattern semi-automatic rifle chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62x51mm NATO. Built on a forged 7075-T6 aircraft-aluminum flat-top receiver, it uses a direct gas-impingement operating system and an 18-inch medium-profile fluted, chrome-lined barrel with a 1-in-10-inch right-hand twist. It ships optics-ready with a Picatinny top rail, a mid-length free-float handguard, a Hogue overmolded grip, and a six-position telescoping buttstock, feeding from a 20-round detachable box magazine.

Background
Windham Weaponry rose from the shuttered Bushmaster Windham, Maine plant. When Cerberus Capital consolidated Bushmaster into its Remington operations, founder Richard Dyke reacquired the original factory and much of its workforce in 2011 and restarted production under the Windham Weaponry name.
