Overview

The Zastava LK M07 is a Serbian precision bolt-action sniper rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, built on a strengthened Mauser M98 action. Developed by Zastava Arms as a modern military and law enforcement sniper platform, the M07 features a 650mm cold hammer-forged chrome-vanadium steel heavy barrel, a polygonal-shaped receiver with an integral Picatinny rail, and a traditional wooden stock with adjustable cheek piece and length of pull. The rifle is capable of effective engagements at ranges up to 1,000 meters with match-grade ammunition. The Mauser-type action provides controlled round feeding and a robust three-position safety, while the heavy barrel profile contributes to accuracy and thermal stability during sustained fire.

Notes

The M07 designation covers three stock variants: M07 (wooden stock), M07AS (polymer fixed stock), and M07AF (folding stock). The M07M is a separate variant chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum with different dimensions. The barrel thread pattern is 18x1 RH for European-standard suppressors and muzzle devices. The rifle uses a Mauser-type claw extractor for reliable controlled-round feeding. The M07 AS variant is the version most commonly exported to the US market through Zastava Arms USA. Two detachable 5-round magazines are included with the rifle.

Background

The M07 represents Zastava's continuation of the Mauser bolt-action tradition, building on over 150 years of arms manufacturing in Kragujevac, Serbia. The rifle modernizes the proven Mauser 98 action with contemporary features while retaining the controlled-round-feed reliability that has made Mauser-type actions the gold standard for military bolt-action rifles.
