Overview
The Zastava PAP M92 (currently marketed in the US as the ZPAP92) is a semi-automatic AK-pattern pistol chambered in 7.62x39mm, derived from the military Zastava M92 compact carbine. Configured without a stock to qualify as a pistol under US firearms law, the PAP M92 retains the parent rifle's 254mm cold-hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel, 1.5mm bulged trunnion, dimpled receiver, and Krinkov-style muzzle device. The barrel is threaded 26x1.5mm left-hand for accessories beneath a welded thread protector. Initially imported by Century Arms beginning in 2011, the PAP M92 platform has become one of the most popular AK-pattern pistols in the United States. Since 2019, Zastava Arms USA has imported and finished the rifles domestically as the ZPAP92, adding upgraded furniture, a redesigned bolt hold-open, and a rear receiver block that accepts factory pistol braces or arm-brace adapters.

Notes
Distinct from the military Zastava M92 (which is select-fire and features an underfolding stock). The PAP M92 is semi-automatic only and stockless to comply with ATF pistol classification. Compatible with all standard AK-47/AKM magazines and drum magazines.
Background
The PAP M92 owes its existence to a quirk of US firearms law: by removing the stock from the military M92 compact carbine, Zastava could legally import the platform as a 'pistol' rather than a short-barreled rifle, sidestepping NFA registration. American shooters quickly began pairing the M92 with arm braces, creating a category of weapons that operated like SBRs but were sold like pistols - a regulatory tightrope the ATF has since tried to walk back several times.
