Overview
The Zastava ZPAP M90 is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, built by Zastava Arms in Serbia and imported for the U.S. commercial market. Derived from the Yugoslav M90 assault rifle and the AKM-based M70 family, it uses a long-stroke gas piston, a 1.5mm bulged double-stack trunnion, and a cold hammer-forged chrome-lined barrel with a 1:7 twist. It feeds from 30-round detachable magazines and features an adjustable gas block, a Western-style flash hider, and adjustable iron sights.

Background
The M90 was developed to replace the M70 in Yugoslav service, adopting the Western 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and STANAG-style magazines, but the breakup of Yugoslavia disrupted its adoption. Decades later Zastava revived the design for the American market as the ZPAP M90.
