Barrett MRAD Covert
Barrett Firearms Manufacturing · Sniper Rifle · In Production · 2026
Also known as: MRAD Covert
Overview
The Barrett MRAD Covert is a short, suppressor-optimized variant of the MRAD precision bolt-action rifle, introduced at SHOT Show 2026. Built around a 17-inch fluted and threaded barrel, it retains the MRAD's user-changeable barrel system and magazine pattern while shrinking down to a transportable footprint. The rifle disassembles in under five minutes to fit inside an included Eberlestock backpack without sacrificing return-to-zero accuracy, making it a discreet, packable precision platform chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester.

Background
The MRAD Covert was designed to vanish into a backpack: Barrett built it so a sniper could carry a sub-MOA precision rifle disassembled inside an Eberlestock pack and reassemble it to zero in the field in minutes.
