Overview
The BCM RECCE-11 MCMR Pistol is a semi-automatic AR-pattern pistol chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, produced by Bravo Company Manufacturing. Built on the RECCE fighting-rifle platform but configured as a large-format pistol, it pairs an 11.5-inch government-profile barrel with a pistol-length buffer tube and stabilizing arm brace rather than a shoulder stock, keeping the package NFA-exempt while delivering carbine-class ballistics from a compact frame. The barrel is independently certified MIL-SPEC 11595E steel with a chrome-lined bore and chamber, USGI 5.56mm NATO chambering, a 1:7 twist, and a standard carbine-length gas system. Both upper and lower receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum forgings and hardcoat anodized, and the bolt carrier group is made from Carpenter No. 158 steel with a full-auto profile chrome-lined carrier that is high-pressure tested and magnetic-particle inspected. The free-floating BCM MCMR handguard provides an M-LOK mounting interface, and the platform feeds from standard 30-round detachable box magazines. At roughly 2313g empty and 686mm overall, the RECCE-11 offers exceptional maneuverability for home defense, vehicle carry, and close-quarters use where a full-length carbine would be unwieldy.

The 'Pistol' designation reflects the US legal configuration: an AR built with a pistol buffer tube and a stabilizing brace (commonly the SB Tactical SBA3) instead of a shoulder stock, which allows the short 11.5-inch barrel without NFA short-barreled-rifle registration. Ballistically and mechanically it is otherwise the same fighting platform as BCM's RECCE carbines. The 11.5-inch barrel with a carbine-length gas system is one of the most historically proven short-barrel AR configurations, tracing back to the Colt Commando lineage favored by special operations units. BCM's lower features a low shelf for RDIAS compatibility. Muzzle velocity and energy figures are lower than the 14.5-inch RECCE-14 due to the shorter barrel reducing powder burn and dwell time.
Background
The RECCE-11 MCMR Pistol grew out of the US pistol-brace era, when shooters sought carbine capability in an NFA-exempt package. By fitting the RECCE fighting platform with a pistol buffer tube and an arm brace instead of a stock, BCM offered the handling of an 11.5-inch SBR without the tax stamp and paperwork.
