Also known as: X-Bolt 2 McMillan Pro LR SPR, X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan SPR

Overview

The Browning X-Bolt 2 McMillan Pro LR SPR is a 2026 flagship long-range and suppressor-ready configuration of the second-generation X-Bolt 2 bolt-action rifle. SPR (Suppressor-Ready) models use a barrel roughly four inches shorter than the standard Pro LR to keep overall length manageable once a suppressor is fitted, with 5/8-24 muzzle threading capped by a Recoil Hawg radial muzzle brake. The rifle pairs a lightweight Pro receiver and spiral-fluted bolt with an ultralight aluminum bolt handle, a fluted heavy-sporter contour barrel, and the adjustable DLX trigger. It is built on a McMillan Game Warden 2.0 carbon-fiber stock with Vari-Tech adjustability for length of pull and comb height. Offered across a wide spread of precision chamberings, the model spearheads the introduction of the new .22 Creedmoor and .25 Creedmoor to the X-Bolt 2 lineup.

Notes

Specifications reflect a short-action .22 Creedmoor SPR with an 18 in (457mm) fluted barrel and a 1:8 twist; other chamberings use 18 to 22 in barrels with weights from roughly 7 lb 3 oz to 7 lb 10 oz and magazine capacity 5-6 depending on cartridge. .22 and .25 Creedmoor variants use a stainless barrel with a matte finish; other calibers wear Carbon Gray Cerakote. Threaded 5/8-24 with a Recoil Hawg brake (Browning rates up to ~76% recoil reduction). Manufactured by Miroku in Japan. Caliber list also includes 6.8 Western, 7mm PRC, and .300 PRC.

Background

The McMillan Pro LR SPR debuted alongside Browning's adoption of the new .22 and .25 Creedmoor cartridges, marrying a McMillan Game Warden carbon-fiber stock and a suppressor-tuned short barrel into one of the lightest factory long-range hunting rifles Browning has ever cataloged.
