Overview

The Desert Tech SRS A2 (Stealth Recon Scout) is a compact bullpup bolt-action precision rifle that delivers full-length barrel performance in a dramatically shorter overall package. The bullpup layout positions the action behind the trigger group, resulting in an overall length of only 838mm with a 660mm barrel -- roughly 300mm shorter than conventional rifles with equivalent barrel length. The SRS A2 is a multi-caliber platform supporting rapid conversion between .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Winchester Magnum, and .338 Lapua Magnum through its quick-change barrel system.

The SRS A2 improved on the original SRS A1 with a redesigned chassis, improved ergonomics, and better barrel lock-up. The bullpup design allows a 26-inch barrel in a package shorter than most conventional rifles with 20-inch barrels. Caliber conversion involves swapping the barrel, bolt, and magazine and takes under two minutes. The Covert variant features a shorter barrel for even more compact dimensions. The rifle's compact profile makes it popular with vehicle-borne teams and operators working in confined spaces.

Background

The Desert Tech SRS was the first production bullpup bolt-action sniper rifle to achieve widespread adoption, proving that the bullpup layout could deliver the same accuracy as conventional designs while offering a massive reduction in overall length. The SRS concept was born from the idea that snipers operating from vehicles, helicopters, and confined urban environments needed full-power precision in a compact package that could be maneuvered in tight spaces.
