Also known as: SRS Covert, SRS-A2 Covert, DTA SRS Covert

Overview

The Desert Tech SRS-A2 Covert is the compact variant of the SRS-A2 bullpup bolt-action sniper rifle, marketed as the shortest production sniper rifle in the world at just 27 inches (686mm) overall length with a 16-inch barrel. The bullpup configuration places the action behind the trigger, allowing a full-length barrel in an extremely compact package. The Covert is specifically optimized for suppressed shooting, with its threaded muzzle accepting standard .30-caliber suppressors and its fast-twist barrels designed to accurately fire both full-power supersonic and subsonic ammunition. Even with a suppressor attached, the SRS-A2 Covert remains shorter than many conventional sniper rifles without one.

Notes

The Covert barrels feature fast-twist rates (1:8 for .308 Win) specifically optimized for performance in 16-18 inch barrel lengths. Desert Tech guarantees 0.5 MOA or better accuracy at 100 yards using DT ammunition with three-shot groups. The multi-caliber conversion system allows barrel changes between .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and other calibers without tools. The bullpup design means the 16-inch barrel produces an overall length of just 27 inches, compared to approximately 40+ inches for a conventional rifle with the same barrel length. The rifle can fire both suppressed subsonic and full-power standard ammunition with equal accuracy.

Background

The SRS-A2 Covert holds the distinction of being the shortest production sniper rifle in the world. At just 27 inches overall, it is shorter than most submachine guns, yet capable of delivering precision fire at ranges exceeding 800 meters. When fitted with a suppressor, the complete system is still shorter than a standard M24 sniper rifle, giving operators a full-capability precision platform that can be concealed in a tennis racket bag.
