Notes
The Glock 23 was introduced in 1990 as the compact version of the G22, mirroring the G19/G17 relationship but in .40 S&W. Weight without magazine is 687g (24.23 oz), overall length 185mm (7.28 inches), barrel length 102mm (4.02 inches). Height is 129mm (5.08 inches), making it notably shorter than the full-size G22's 140mm. Magazine capacity is 13 rounds compared to the G22's 15. The G23 accepts G22 full-size magazines for increased capacity when concealment is not a concern.
Background
The Glock 23 was long considered the ultimate plainclothes law enforcement pistol -- compact enough for concealed carry but packing .40 S&W firepower that matched the full-size duty guns carried by uniformed officers. Federal Air Marshals, DEA agents, and plainclothes detectives made the G23 their go-to for decades. The Gen5 version arrives as many of those same agencies transition to 9mm, but the G23 remains a compelling option for those who value the ballistic advantage of .40 S&W in a concealable package.
