Notes

The G23 Gen5 MOS shares the same weight and frame dimensions as the standard Gen5 G23: 687g (24.23 oz) without magazine, 185mm overall length, 102mm barrel, 129mm height. The MOS slide provides a slightly longer sight radius of 156mm compared to 152mm on the standard Gen5, due to the MOS-specific sight mounting positions. Magazine capacity is 13 rounds with compatibility for G22 full-size 15-round magazines.

Background

The Glock 23 Gen5 MOS brings the red dot revolution to the compact .40 S&W platform, addressing a niche that is smaller than it once was but still significant. For agencies that have standardized on .40 S&W and want to modernize with optics rather than switch calibers entirely, the G23 Gen5 MOS offers the most cost-effective upgrade path: keep the same caliber, same magazines, same holster platform, and add a red dot for improved accuracy and faster target acquisition.
