The Glock G23 V is the latest V-series generation of Glock's compact .40 S&W pistol, released in 2025 as part of Glock's updated product line. Built on the compact frame shared with the G19 and G32, the G23 V carries 13+1 rounds of .40 S&W in a package measuring 7.28 inches (185mm) overall length and 5.08 inches (129mm) in height. The V-series designation represents the newest Glock generation, incorporating the Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) with enhanced polygonal rifling, nDLC finish on all metal surfaces, front slide serrations, ambidextrous slide stop, reversible magazine catch, flared magazine well, and the modular backstrap system for customizable grip fit. The Glock 23 was originally introduced in 1990 as the compact counterpart to the full-size G22. The V-series (2025) replaces the Gen5 as the current production model. Weight without magazine is 687g (24.23 oz). The G23 V shares its frame dimensions with the G19 (9mm) and G32 (.357 SIG). The .40 S&W produces noticeably more recoil than 9mm in the compact frame, but the V-series ergonomic improvements help manage it. Compatible with G22 15-round magazines with grip extension for increased capacity. The G23 can be converted to .357 SIG with a barrel swap.
Background
The Glock 23 was for decades the best-selling law enforcement pistol in America, issued by more police departments than any other compact handgun during the .40 S&W era.
