The G33 Gen4 is dimensionally identical to the Glock 26 Gen4 (9mm) and Glock 27 Gen4 (.40 S&W), sharing frame, slide dimensions, and holster compatibility. Weight without magazine is approximately 510g. The .357 SIG from the short 87mm barrel still produces velocities well above comparable 9mm loads, but with significant muzzle blast and flash. Compatible with G31 and G32 magazines with grip extensions. The G33 Gen4 has been discontinued as the .357 SIG market has contracted.
Background
The Glock 33 Gen4 was the ultimate backup gun for .357 SIG devotees -- a pocket-sized powerhouse delivering magnum-class velocity from a subcompact frame. The Gen4's modular backstraps were particularly appreciated on the subcompact, where grip fit is critical for controlling the .357 SIG's sharp recoil. Officers who carried the full-size G31 or compact G32 on duty could carry the G33 as an ankle or off-duty backup with complete caliber and magazine compatibility, a logistics advantage that kept the tiny .357 SIG in service long after larger market forces began pushing agencies toward 9mm.
