Grand Power Stribog SR9

Grand Power s.r.o. · Carbine · In Production · 2016

Also known as: Stribog SR9A1

Overview

The Grand Power Stribog SR9 is the extended-barrel, carbine-length member of the Slovak Stribog family of 9x19mm pistol-caliber weapons. It pairs the direct-blowback action and 7075 aluminium receiver of the SP9 with a longer 10-inch barrel for improved velocity and accuracy over the pistol-length SP9. Like the rest of the line it uses an AR-15-style fire selector and grip, a full-length top Picatinny rail, an M-LOK handguard, ambidextrous controls, a non-reciprocating charging handle and a side-folding stock, feeding from proprietary 10/20/30-round detachable box magazines.

Notes

The 'SR' designation denotes the longer 10-inch barrel; the SP9 uses an 8-inch barrel. The later SR9 A3 replaces the simple direct-blowback action with a roller-delayed system for reduced recoil.

Background

The Stribog is named after the Slavic god of wind, and its blocky, rail-covered silhouette built a cult following in the US large-format-pistol and pistol-brace market; the longer-barrelled SR9 lets owners run it as a true carbine once a stock or AR-pattern adapter is fitted.
