Precision machined from 7075 aircraft aluminum to mil-spec guidelines, it uses a 14-inch (356mm) rifled barrel and a double-action Smith & Wesson-style trigger group. It accepts standard 40mm cartridges up to 4.8 inches long and is fitted with an expandable ROGERS Super Stoc, an adjustable Integrated Front Grip (IFG) with light rail, a Picatinny top rail with bead sight, and ambidextrous breech-release and lateral sling mounts. Marketed under Safariland's Defense Technology brand, the launcher is precision OEM-manufactured by Lewis Machine & Tool.

Background

Less-lethal 40mm single launchers like the 40LMTS pair the accuracy of a rifled bore with a lightweight collapsible carbine layout, letting tactical officers deploy sponge, chemical, and marking rounds from the same familiar controls as a patrol carbine.
