LWRC IC-SPR
LWRC International, LLC · Carbine · In Production · 2013
Also known as: LWRC M6-IC-SPR, Individual Carbine Special Purpose Rifle
Overview
The LWRC IC-SPR (Individual Carbine - Special Purpose Rifle) is a premium American semi-automatic gas-piston carbine chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. It pairs LWRC International's patented self-regulating short-stroke piston operating system with a 16.1-inch cold hammer forged, spiral-fluted barrel, a monoforge upper receiver and a fully ambidextrous lower. The piston design runs the action cleaner and cooler than direct-impingement AR-15s, while the lightweight fluted barrel and modular rail make it a refined civilian and law-enforcement patrol carbine derived from LWRC's earlier M6A2-SPR platform.

Background
LWRC International developed its Individual Carbine (IC) line for the U.S. Army's Individual Carbine competition intended to replace the M4; the SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) configuration carried that piston-driven design into the commercial market.
