Overview

The Mossberg Patriot is a bolt-action centerfire rifle designed to deliver sub-MOA accuracy at an accessible price point. The Patriot features Mossberg's patented Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) trigger, user-adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds, providing a crisp, clean break typically found on rifles costing significantly more. Standard features across the lineup include a fluted barrel with recessed match crown, spiral-fluted bolt for smooth cycling and reduced weight, Weaver-style scope bases, and a drop box detachable magazine. The Patriot is available in over a dozen calibers from .22-250 Remington to .450 Bushmaster, with barrel lengths ranging from 20 to 24 inches depending on chambering. Multiple stock configurations - synthetic, walnut, predator, and tactical - cover hunting, long-range shooting, and budget-minded applications.

Background

The Mossberg Patriot proved that sub-MOA accuracy didn't require a four-figure price tag, earning a devoted following among budget-conscious hunters who discovered that its factory LBA trigger rivaled aftermarket triggers costing as much as the rifle itself. The spiral-fluted bolt became a signature design element, combining reduced bolt weight with a distinctive aesthetic that set the Patriot apart from its competitors in the crowded budget bolt-action market.
