Overview
The Pindad SS2-V4 is the designated marksman / heavy-barrel variant of Indonesia's SS2 service rifle, with a longer 460 mm barrel optimized for accuracy out to 600 m. It is heavily used by Indonesian Army marksmen and special forces, often topping ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) competitions. The V4 retains the SS2 family's gas-operated long-stroke piston, rotating bolt and STANAG magazine interface while adding a Picatinny rail and stock optimized for optics use.

Notes
The 'commando' carbine designation sometimes attached to the SS2-V4 reflects its adoption by Indonesian Special Forces; the heavier barrel and longer sight radius vs. the V2 makes it a hybrid DMR/marksman role rather than a true SBR.
