Overview
The POF Revolution is a groundbreaking semi-automatic rifle that achieves the seemingly impossible: fitting a full-power .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO platform into an AR-15-sized package. Patriot Ordnance Factory accomplished this through a complete redesign of the bolt, carrier, barrel extension, and lower receiver, making the Revolution's receivers, bolt assembly, and barrel extension the same physical dimensions as a standard 5.56mm AR-15. The short-stroke gas piston system, 5R-cut 419mm (16.5-inch) barrel, and proprietary roller cam pin deliver reliable cycling with reduced recoil, while the compact overall length of just 864mm makes the Revolution one of the most maneuverable .308 rifles ever produced. The result is a full-power battle rifle that handles like a carbine.

Notes
The Revolution's engineering achievement lies in its proprietary bolt and barrel extension, which are the same size as an AR-15's despite chambering the much larger .308 Winchester cartridge. This required POF to design an entirely new locking system. The roller cam pin reduces carrier tilt and wear, while the heat sink barrel nut accelerates cooling during sustained fire. The DI (Direct Impingement) variant was introduced as a lighter-weight alternative to the piston model. Standard AR-15 stocks, grips, and triggers are compatible with the Revolution lower receiver. The rifle accepts standard SR-25/DPMS-pattern magazines despite the smaller receiver dimensions.
Background
When POF-USA unveiled the Revolution at SHOT Show 2018, it was met with widespread skepticism -- engineers had long considered it physically impossible to fit a .308 into an AR-15 envelope. The company proved the doubters wrong with a working prototype that handled identically to a 5.56mm carbine while delivering full .308 Winchester ballistics, earning it the nickname 'the gun that shouldn't exist.'
