Overview
The Škorpion vz. 82 is a Czechoslovak closed-bolt, blowback, select-fire machine pistol, a re-chambered successor to the vz. 61 Skorpion firing the more powerful 9x18mm Makarov cartridge. Compact enough to be holstered and fired one-handed, it uses a side-folding wire stock and an in-grip mechanical rate reducer that tames the otherwise very high cyclic rate. It feeds from straight 12-, 24-, or 30-round box magazines.

Notes
Adopted by the Czechoslovak military and security services. The in-grip rate-reduction mechanism lowers the effective cyclic rate to make controlled bursts practical from such a light weapon.
Background
Small enough to vanish under a jacket, the Skorpion hides a tiny clockwork rate-reducer in its grip so the gun does not simply empty its magazine in one uncontrollable burst.
