SIG Sauer P226-XCarry Legion

SIG Sauer · Pistol · In Production · 2024

Also known as: P226 XCarry Legion, P226-XCA Legion, P226 X-Carry Legion

Overview

The SIG Sauer P226-XCarry Legion is the compact carry variant of the P226 Legion X-Series line, combining a shortened 97mm match-grade bull barrel and compact slide with the full-size P226 grip frame for optimal concealed carry capability without sacrificing grip surface or magazine capacity. Introduced in 2024 alongside the full-size P226-X Legion, the XCarry Legion retains the 18+1 flush-fit magazine capacity while reducing overall length to 184mm and height to 133mm. The lightweight alloy frame is finished in Legion Gray Cerakote and paired with an AX2 adjustable DA/SA trigger system that allows fine-tuning of take-up, overtravel, and reset. The 97mm bull barrel features a 35/35-degree reverse target crown for match-grade accuracy, and the optics-ready slide accommodates SIG-LOC PRO red dot sights. Weighing 921 grams unloaded, the XCarry Legion strikes a balance between the shootability of a full-size pistol and the concealability of a compact, making it well-suited for daily carry by experienced shooters who prefer the DA/SA hammer-fired platform.

Notes

The P226-XCarry Legion was released as part of SIG Sauer's NEXT product launch alongside the full-size P226-X Legion. The key difference from the full-size P226-X Legion is the shorter 3.8-inch barrel and compact slide, while retaining the full-size grip module that accepts the same 18-round flush-fit magazines. Unlike the full-size X Legion, the XCarry does not use TXG tungsten grips in its standard configuration, resulting in a lighter overall weight of 32.5 ounces. The pistol is available in both DA/SA and SAO configurations, with the SAO variant adding a manual thumb safety. The XCarry Legion also accepts an optional manual safety for DA/SA models. An optic cut on the slide allows direct mounting of red dot sights without the need for adapter plates. MSRP is approximately $1,600-$1,800.

Background

The XCarry Legion addresses a long-standing request from the SIG Legion community for a more concealable P226 Legion variant that does not compromise on grip length or magazine capacity. By pairing a compact slide with the full-size grip, SIG created a carry-optimized pistol that still handles like a full-size gun at the range. The concept mirrors what Glock achieved with the G19X and G45 by combining a compact slide with a full-size frame, but applied to SIG's classic DA/SA hammer-fired architecture.
