SIG Sauer P365 XL
SIG Sauer · Pistol · In Production · 2019
Also known as: P365XL, P365 XL, P365 XL Nitron
Overview
The SIG Sauer P365 XL is an extended variant of the revolutionary P365 micro-compact pistol, introduced in 2019 to bridge the gap between the ultra-concealable P365 and a traditional compact carry pistol. Chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, the P365 XL features a longer 3.7-inch barrel and extended slide that provide a 5.6-inch sight radius, significantly improving accuracy over the standard P365's 4.9-inch radius. The pistol ships with a 12-round flush-fit magazine and is compatible with 15-round extended magazines, maintaining the P365 family's exceptional capacity-to-size ratio. Weighing 20.7 ounces unloaded with an overall length of 6.6 inches, the P365 XL remains highly concealable while offering enhanced shootability. The optics-ready slide is cut for the ROMEO-X COMPACT and Shield RMSc-pattern red-dot sights, making it one of the most popular carry-optics platforms. Standard features include XRAY3 day/night sights, a flat X Straight Trigger with a 90-degree break, extended beavertail with integrated magwell on the X grip module, SIG accessory rail, and the stainless steel slide with Nitron finish. The P365 XL quickly became one of the best-selling concealed carry pistols in the United States, particularly favored by shooters who find the standard P365 too small for comfortable shooting but still require deep concealment capability.

Notes
The P365 XL was introduced at the 2019 SHOT Show and was one of the first micro-compact pistols to ship with a factory optics-ready slide. The original model featured the XRAY3 night sights and a standard curved trigger, but was updated with the flat X Straight Trigger and X grip module with integrated magwell. The XL uses the same modified double-stack magazine technology as the standard P365 but in a slightly longer grip frame. Manual safety variants are available. The P365 XL is compatible with most P365 holsters designed for the longer slide length, and its modular design allows for grip module swaps without affecting the serialized fire control unit.
Background
The P365 XL answered the most common criticism of the original P365 - that it was too small for comfortable extended shooting sessions - by adding just enough length and height to dramatically improve shootability while remaining fully concealable. Its factory optics-ready slide helped popularize the carry-optics trend that now dominates the concealed carry market.
