Overview
The SIG Sauer P365 is a revolutionary micro-compact striker-fired semi-automatic pistol introduced in 2018 that redefined the concealed carry market. Chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, the P365 features an innovative modified double-stack magazine design that achieves unprecedented capacity in an ultra-compact package, offering 10+1 rounds in a flush-fit magazine with options for 12, 15, 17, and even 21-round extended magazines. The pistol features a 3.1-inch barrel, 5.8-inch overall length, and weighs just 17.8 ounces unloaded, making it one of the most concealable full-capacity pistols available. Built with a stainless steel slide featuring a corrosion-resistant Nitron finish, stainless steel frame components, polymer grip module, and carbon steel barrel, the P365 is rated for +P ammunition. Standard features include XRAY3 day/night sights with a 4.9-inch sight radius, striker safety, disconnect safety, reversible magazine release, and front and rear slide serrations. The P365 quickly became the best-selling concealed carry pistol in the United States and has been widely adopted by law enforcement agencies including the Michigan State Police, Indiana State Police, and Chicago Police Department. Its success spawned an entire family of variants including the extended P365XL, optics-ready P365X, snag-free P365 SAS, and high-capacity P365 XMACRO.

Notes
The P365 introduced SIG Sauer's patented modified double-stack magazine technology, which allows for significantly higher capacity than traditional single-stack micro-compacts while maintaining similar dimensions. The pistol was awarded the 2019 Handgun of the Year by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Early production models experienced some teething issues including striker drag and spring breakage, which were resolved in later production runs. The P365 platform is modular, with the serialized fire control unit removable and compatible across different grip modules and caliber configurations. Optional features include manual thumb safety variants. The P365's commercial success prompted competitors to develop similar high-capacity micro-compact designs, fundamentally changing the concealed carry market segment.
Background
The P365 revolutionized the concealed carry market by cramming 10+1 rounds of 9mm into a package previously only capable of holding 6-7. It won the 2019 NSSF Handgun of the Year award and forced every major manufacturer to redesign their micro-compact offerings to compete with its capacity-to-size ratio.
