Background
The .500 S&W Magnum cartridge produces muzzle energy exceeding many rifle cartridges, making revolvers chambered in this caliber among the most powerful production handguns ever manufactured. The Taurus 500 Raging Bull offered a more affordable alternative to the Smith & Wesson Model 500.
