Taurus Raging Hunter .460

Also known as: Raging Hunter 460, Raging Hunter .460 S&W

Overview

The Taurus Raging Hunter .460 is a large-frame double-action/single-action hunting revolver chambered in the powerful .460 S&W Magnum. Introduced in 2023, it uses a five-round cylinder with dual cylinder lockup to contain the cartridge's high pressure, and pairs a fluted, ported barrel with an integral Picatinny optics rail. Like other .460 revolvers, it can also safely fire .454 Casull and .45 Colt ammunition. Its gas-expansion chamber, ported shroud and cushioned-insert rubber grip help tame the recoil of one of the most powerful commercially produced handgun cartridges, making it a purpose-built big-game and long-range handgun-hunting arm.

Background

The Raging Hunter line grew out of Taurus's Raging Bull family of heavy hunting revolvers; the .460 chambering, added in 2023, made it one of only a handful of production revolvers able to fire the flat-shooting .460 S&W Magnum alongside .454 Casull and .45 Colt.
