Overview
The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is the semi-automatic civilian variant of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 select-fire submachine gun, developed by Ceska zbrojovka (CZUB) in the Czech Republic. Introduced to the civilian market in 2015, the S1 retains the A1's blowback operating system, polymer lower receiver, cold hammer-forged 196mm barrel, and fully ambidextrous controls, but is limited to semi-automatic fire only with a two-position safety selector (safe and fire). Available as both a pistol configuration (without stock, 406mm overall length) and a carbine configuration (with 412mm barrel and fixed stock, 630mm overall length), the S1 has become one of the most popular pistol-caliber firearms in the United States. The weapon ships with 20-round translucent polymer magazines but is compatible with all CZ Scorpion EVO 3 magazines including 30-round standard and aftermarket extended options. The S1 features a full-length Picatinny rail on top for optics, M-LOK attachment points on the handguard, and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle for suppressor or muzzle device attachment.

The S1 designation indicates 'Semi-automatic, Model 1' in CZ's nomenclature, distinguishing it from the A1 (Automatic, Model 1) military variant. The semi-auto-only trigger group uses a different disconnector that prevents automatic fire, and the fire selector has only two positions rather than four. The pistol version was initially sold in the US without any brace or stock; the addition of an SB Tactical brace became one of the most popular aftermarket modifications. The S1 Carbine variant adds a longer 412mm (16.2-inch) barrel to comply with US rifle length requirements and includes a factory-installed fixed stock. The S2 Micro features an ultra-short 104mm barrel for maximum compactness. All S1 variants accept the same magazines and share the same lower receiver. The weapon has developed a robust aftermarket ecosystem including HB Industries triggers, Magpul magazines, and numerous handguard and brace options.
