Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of GunSpec.io, the GunSpec API, and all data and content we provide (the "Services"), and supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Services you agree to these rules.
We may suspend or terminate access for any use that violates this policy or applicable law.
1. Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Services to: (1) violate any applicable law or regulation; (2) facilitate the illegal manufacture, assembly, sale, transfer, trafficking, or modification of firearms, ammunition, or controlled components; (3) circumvent firearm, import, export, or other legal restrictions; (4) harass, threaten, defame, or harm others; (5) distribute malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data; or (6) misrepresent GunSpec data as official manufacturer, legal, or safety guidance.
2. API & Data Usage
You must respect the rate limits and quotas for your tier and must not attempt to circumvent them. You may not scrape, bulk-download, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the data except as expressly permitted by your subscription and our Terms. API keys are personal to your account and must not be shared, published, or transferred.
3. Export & Compliance
GunSpec publishes publicly available specification and reference data for informational purposes. It is not intended to be, and should not be treated as, controlled technical data or assistance for the design or manufacture of firearms under the U.S. ITAR, EAR, or comparable regimes. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Services complies with all applicable export-control, sanctions, and import laws in your jurisdiction.
4. Jurisdiction & Local Law
Firearm laws vary widely by country, state, province, and municipality. The presence of any item in our database does not imply it is legal to own, possess, purchase, or transfer where you are. The Services are provided for information and reference only and do not constitute legal, safety, or purchasing advice. You are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you.
5. Age Requirement
You must be of the legal age required in your jurisdiction to access firearm-related information and to agree to our Terms of Service. The Services are not directed to children.
6. Enforcement & Reporting
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate accounts, revoke API keys, and remove content at our discretion. To report abuse or a suspected violation, contact [email protected].
