DMCA & Copyright Policy
Last Updated: June 3, 2026
Buun Group respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of GunSpec.io and the GunSpec API to do the same. This policy explains how copyright owners can report material they believe infringes their rights, in line with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material in question.
1. Reporting Alleged Infringement
If you believe content on GunSpec (such as an image, description, or other material) infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at [email protected].
To be effective, your notice must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed; (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing and its location, including a direct URL; (4) your contact details (name, address, email, and phone); (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
2. Designated Agent
Copyright notices should be directed to: Buun Group, DMCA Agent, [email protected]. We may forward copies of any notice we receive to the person who provided the material in question.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe material you provided was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to [email protected].
Your counter-notice must include: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal; (3) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; and (4) your name, address, and phone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and a statement that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
4. Repeat Infringers
In appropriate circumstances, we will disable or terminate accounts and API access for users who are found to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
5. Images & Reference Data
Firearm images and specification data on GunSpec are compiled from publicly available and manufacturer sources for reference purposes. If you are a manufacturer or rights holder and wish to have an image or other content removed or attributed differently, contact [email protected] or see our Content Removal & Corrections policy.
6. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. Please make sure your claims are submitted in good faith.
